A Conversation with Stephen Bulger

Image
Welcome to Episode 3! It was a great pleasure to speak with Stephen Bulger this past month. I anticipated that this conversation would be filled with many interesting insights but I never thought that our conversation would inspire me to get back into the dark room! I hope you enjoy this episode and visit the Bulger Gallery soon!  (photo credit: Lutz Dille – “Three in a Window”. 1959)  Stephen Bulger (born Toronto, 1964) engaged in photography as a hobby throughout his youth. http://defendthedarkroom.libsyn.com/…/defend-the-darkroom-2… This episode we are talking with Steve Sherman. So I remedied that… Steve has been a master mind of a number of different camera clubs, fundraisers and symposiums. He has been a mentor for numerous large format photographers across North America – but he also had a career and a family! I hope you enjoy our conversation. Here is Steve’s artist statement…. My int...

Welcome to Defend the Darkroom

Are you tired of talking tech? Are you tired of wondering what possessed someone to take a picture of “THAT”? Does the idea of being driven to wake up at the crack of dawn seem ridiculous and you want to know why photographers do it? Welcome to Defend the Darkroom… We are talking to photographers and creatives about themselves – what drives them to do what they do and how they were inspired along the way. In looking at our tech based world, we realized that no one was talking about inspiration, desire, drive or creativity and we thought that it was about time. We hope that these interviews are interesting, affirming and maybe (hopefully) entertaining. These podcasts are meant to be conversations so…. If you have any burning questions for any of our upcoming guest – please do not hesitate to email us!  If you are dying to hear from a certain photographer –  email us ! If we forgot to ask a super important question – email us and we will definitely try and get it ...
